About Couples Therapy

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about couple’s therapy and the work I do.

If you can’t find the answers you’re looking for, feel free to fill out a contact form with your questions.

What are your fees for couples therapy

My fees for couples therapy are as follows:

  • €500 for the initial assessment phase* (first four sessions)

  • €150 for each subsequent joint 50-minute session

  • €200 for each subsequent 75-minute session

Payments can be made by credit/debit card or by bank transfer.

All payments are invoiced and can be deducted as a health expense through the Italian Revenue Agency

What does your assessment phase* look like?

Couples therapy starts with an initial assessment phase which usually lasts 3 weeks and looks as follows:

1st session: joint 75 minute session where I will ask you to speak about the relationship, what issues your are facing, and the goals and wishes you have for couples counselling.

2nd & 3rd session: individual 50-minute sessions where I will ask to meet with each of you individually to gather more in-depth information about each of your personal history.

4th session: joint 75-minute session where I will offer you the feedback of my assessment and suggest therapeutic goals for our work together.

I’m fluent in both Italian and English, so we can speak English or Italian, or a mix of both.

Which language do you do therapy in?

I offer both online and in-person: we can choose to meet online or in my Studio in Via Francesco Soave 24, Milan.

For online therapy you may both be in the same place connecting from the same device, or from separate devices.

Do you offer online therapy or in-person therapy?

This depends on your insurance provider - please check with them regarding accessing couple’s therapy.

Do you take insurance?

I think we need couples counselling but my partner doesn’t want to go. What should I do?

It is very common for one partner to resist the idea of couples counselling, and it’s important to respect their stance. You can become curious about why your partner is not willing to go to therapy - try to open up a dialogue on this issue.

You can also suggest booking an introductory session, which does not imply committing to ongoing therapy. In the initial session I can help have a dialogue around how therapy can help you and your relationship.

If you choose to book an initial session, make sure to involve your partner in the choice of therapist.

Finally, you can look into taking part in one of my workshops with your partner - mental and emotional wellbeing workshops are a great way to get to know the professional and get a feel for how they approach relational and emotional issues.

How do we know you’re the right therapist for us?

Choosing the “right” therapist can sometimes feel overwhelming and confusing and I want to help you make this decision so you can feel totally at ease about starting therapy with me.

You can check out my bio or my specialties to have a good feel of who I am and how I work. If you still have some doubts, feel free to reach out to me.

If either you or your partner feel I’m NOT the right professional for you, that’s absolutely fine. I’ll do my best to provide you with referrals to other therapists who might be a better fit.
